About Dr. Henigsman

Dr. Henigsman received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach where she graduated magna cum laude.  She received her doctorate in medicine at Western University of Health Sciences.  She graduated first in her medical school class and was inducted into the medical honor society, Sigma Sigma Phi.  While attending Western University, Dr. Henigsman developed a special interest in women’s health and chose to dedicate her career to Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Henigsman completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine, one of the top obstetrics and gynecology programs in the country.  At UCI, she conduced research on fetal heart rate patterns and her research has been published in the journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology


After finishing residency, Dr. Henigsman started a private practice in California where she developed a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgical procedures.  She was one of two gynecologists chosen to start the Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery program at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital.  She has been trained by Dr. Arnold Advincula and Dr. Marc Winter both leader in the field of  minimally invasive surgery.  Dr. Henigsman had performed over one thousand minimally invasive robotic surgeries and is trained in complex gynecologic surgery. 


Dr. Henigsman’s goal is to be a provider of the highest level in gynecology.  She has a special interest in not only minimally invasive surgery, but in menopausal medicine, abnormal pap smear management, pediatric/adolescent gynecology and contraceptive management.  She believes it is important to treat every aspect of a woman’s health:  physical, mental and social.  Patient education is a vital part of her practice as she feels the doctor-patient relationship is the most important basis of a team effort in the care of patients.
